Public Hearing

The City of Watervliet will hold a public hearing on the proposed City-Wide Asset Improvements Project for the purpose of receiving comments from interested persons.

The hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. on June 22 at the following location:  Watervliet Fire Department, 217 West Pleasant Street, Watervliet, MI 49098.

The purpose of the proposed project is to implement drinking water and wastewater system improvements throughout the City’s service area. Project construction will involve water main and service line replacements as well as wastewater piping rehabilitation. Impacts of the proposed project include improved drinking water system capacity, inspection and replacement of select services lines, and renewal of aging wastewater piping. Some temporary impacts to traffic and localized service disruptions are anticipated as part of construction.

The estimated cost to users for the proposed project will be $5,500,000. Copies of the plan detailing the proposed project are available for inspection at the following location: City of Watervliet City Hall, 158 West Pleasant Street, Watervliet, MI 49098.
