Welcome to Watervliet, Michigan!

      Announcements:

      LEAF PICK-UP DATES AND INSTRUCTIONS

The City leaf pick-up will be on the following dates.

South side of town (south of railroad tracks): November 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.

North side of town (north of railroad) tracks: November 10th, 12th, 13th and 14th

You must have your leaves raked to the edge of the road no later than Monday at 7:30am on your designated week depending on what side of town your home is located. The Public Works Dept. will make one pass through each side of town. If your leaves are not ready to be picked up on Monday morning, you risk missing the pick-up, depending on PWDs starting location and the amount of time it takes to get through the route. To be clear, Public Works will NOT be running the route all 4 days, but rather are anticipating being completely through the route in the 4 day period of time allowed for each side of town.

      Bagged leaves will be accepted.

NOT accepted are the following: Trash, Brush, Sticks.

Please do not pile leaves around mailboxes or street sign posts.

WE HAVE BEGUN INTRODUCING CHLORINE INTO OUR WATER SYSTEM. YOU MAY NOTICE A SLIGHT ODOR OF CHLORINE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THIS IS NORMAL AND TO BE EXPECTED. Please know that the chlorine levels are being monitored and tested daily to ensure safe levels are maintained.

Due to changes in the law in the State of Michigan, the City is no longer able to accept yard waste such as brush, limbs and leaves at our Public Works Garage. Changes in the law prohibit us from burning the brush and limbs brought to that site from elsewhere. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and ask that you do not dump anything at the garage. Thank you.
